Job Summary
Horizontal Directional Bore Operator/Locator performs locating and operation of horizontal directional drill rigs to install underground conduit and fiber optic cable. Responsibilities include setting up and cleaning up work sites with traffic/pedestrian control, performing laborer duties when borings are unavailable, reading utility locates, coordinating day lighting, inspecting workmanship, aligning and adjusting machinery, leveling to final grade, measuring from grade stakes and GPS coordinates, relocating RF and fiber service, ensuring public safety and adherence to safety procedures, completing permits on site, and communicating with supervisors to submit required paperwork. Leadership duties include leading field teams as directed by the supervisor. Requires knowledge of utility safety, ability to read maps/diagrams, outdoor work in all weather, travel across California, and working long days; minimum 2 years of verifiable directional bore experience and a High School Diploma or equivalent; Class A CDL with tanker endorsement preferred. Salary: $54.00-$60.00/hour (annualized to $112,320-$124,800). Job is full-time and on-site in California.
Required Qualifications
