Job Summary
Operate CNC lathes and mills with minimal assistance using MAZAK, HAAS, Fanuc, and Mori controls, interpreting blueprints and M/G codes to manufacture parts. Load raw materials safely, select inserts and tooling, and perform daily maintenance while using measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements. Maintain the machine shop environment, provide feedback on process improvements, and adhere to ISO standards and safety procedures. Work the 2:30pm to 1:00am shift Monday through Thursday, lifting up to 50 pounds in a noisy, dusty environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of experience in CNC machining
- Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
- Ability to work night shifts
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to understand and observe all necessary safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Due to ITAR regulations, only U.S. persons—defined as U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders), and U.S. nationals—are eligible for this position
Desired Qualifications
- Technical degree or certification in CNC machining
- In-depth knowledge of CNC milling machines and operations
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments and tools
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be familiar with MAZAK, HAAS, Fanuc, and Mori Controls
- Understands and can function using M and G codes
- Must demonstrate a basic understanding of cutting tools
- Properly chooses/uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling
- Understands and can perform basic tool wear offsets
- Ability to power on and operate CNC lathes and mills with minimal assistance
- Must be self-sufficient
- Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department
- Basic understanding and ability to follow manufacturing processes and procedures
- Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures
- Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions
- Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management
- Attends scheduled meetings and actively participates by providing meaningful input
- Is flexible with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrant
- Communicates honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills
