Job Summary
Plan and deliver educational instruction to diverse learners, including those with special needs, in line with state and district standards. Develop and implement lesson plans and activities for in-person and virtual learning, create an engaging classroom environment, and assess student progress to prepare reports on achievement and attendance. Communicate with parents, students, and district personnel via phone, email, or video conferencing. Serve as a case manager for students with disabilities by preparing IEP paperwork, facilitating meetings, and directing paraprofessional work as needed. Maintain prompt attendance and adhere to the Georgia professional code of educator ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university in the relevant educational field
- Valid Professional Standards Commission approved teaching certificate in the appropriate educational field
- Appropriate certification in service (e.g., Special Education, Adaptive curriculum, and/or Special Education General Curriculum)
- Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved subject-specific endorsements
- Minimum two (2) years of verifiable industrial work experience
- Industry licensure
- Must pass the GACE Education Ethics Assessment
