Job Summary
Maintain the safety of Hope House residents and lead skills-building activities, daily living support, crisis intervention, and coverage during shifts. Collect, document, and report information and data as required while working as a team member to achieve outcomes aligned with program goals. This role supports individuals experiencing homelessness in a 24-hour trauma-informed environment grounded in social work best practices. The position operates Friday and Saturday from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm with an hourly rate of $23.82, including shift differentials for evening and overnight hours.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Understanding of the Preble Street mission and harm reduction
- Understanding and positive regard for individuals experiencing homelessness and/or living in poverty
- Understanding of low-barrier services and related challenges
- Understanding of mental illness, substance use, and co-occurring disorders
- Ability to establish and maintain boundaries within diverse populations
- Effective crisis intervention skills
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field of study
- Experience in direct service provision to people experiencing homelessness
- Comparable combination of education and relevant experience
