Job Summary
The Honors Program Associate (Student) facilitates experiential learning for first-year AU Honors Program students, designs out-of-class experiences to complement classroom learning, and serves as an undergraduate TA to a CORE 106 faculty member. Responsibilities include attending class and holding office hours twice weekly, facilitating Honors experiential labs, planning community programming on the Honors and Scholars floor in Anderson Hall, and assisting Honors Program staff with Admissions events. The role requires excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills, and interaction with students, faculty, and staff. This is a part-time on-campus position at American University (Main Campus, Washington, DC).
Required Qualifications
- Must be a student in good standing in the AU Honors Program
- Part-time availability (8-12 hours per week)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to convey complex concepts clearly
- Strong interpersonal and time-management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
