Job Summary
General Sales Manager leads the sales department to meet/exceed new and used vehicle gross and volume objectives; develops annual sales goals and budgets, coaches and trains the sales team, manages commissions and performance, reviews deal settlements, oversees inventory strategy and profitability, maintains customer service standards, and implements customer retention programs while ensuring compliance with local/state/federal rules. Responsibilities include conducting sales meetings, setting objectives, monitoring performance, managing advertising/promotions efficacy, and guiding vehicle deliveries to educate customers and build loyalty. Requires automotive sales experience (3-5 years), demonstrated leadership, strong communication and CSI, and a valid driver’s license with good MVR; role may involve up to 10% travel.
