Job Summary
Negotiate and settle homeowners, condo, boat, and ATV property damage claims in accordance with business unit best practices. Review estimates, coordinate appraisals for disputed cases, and determine claim values while setting and updating reserves. Act as the primary point of contact for policyholder attorneys, drafting correspondence and leading direct negotiations to resolve disputes efficiently. Research customer communications, analyze lease and condominium documents, and document all claim files with detailed notes. Requires 3+ years of claims experience and proficiency in remote work with a dedicated home office. Offers a $1000 licensing sign-on bonus for eligible candidates with active property & casualty or appraiser licenses.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of claims experience
- Proficient communication skills, especially over the phone, to establish rapport and assess claims accurately
- Ability to work independently and remotely, while managing time efficiently
- Familiarity with insurance policies, coverage, and liability determination
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to evaluate and negotiate injury claims successfully
- Knowledge of innovative tools and platforms for effective claims evaluation
- The ability to handle condo claims and property liability
- Prior large loss claim and litigation handling
- Regular, predictable attendance
- A home office – a dedicated workspace in your residence that is private and free from distractions
- A minimum internet bandwidth of 50 MB down/5 MB up
- Appropriate work surface and seating
- Adjuster and/or an appraiser license
- Passing an additional background check with the Department of Labor
- Secure license(s) within 60 days of hire
- Terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding
- Not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment
- Formally surrender resident producer license when instructed to by the licensing team
- Applicants acknowledge and accept these licensing requirements and agree to comply
- Active Home Resident Property & Casualty License
- Designated Home State (DHS) Florida or Texas License
- Applicable Appraiser License
- Submit to a background investigation
