Job Summary
Homemaker is responsible for helping older adults maintain a safe, clean home by performing housekeeping tasks in clients’ homes. Key duties include light housekeeping (dusting, mopping, vacuuming), bed making and linen care, cleaning countertops and maintaining sanitary conditions in the home, trash disposal, laundry, dishwashing, and assisting with errands such as obtaining medicines and groceries. The role requires submitting Homemaker documentation to the Lead, presenting a neat appearance (scrubs recommended), and reporting to the Homemaker Lead. Driving and safe operation of a vehicle are implied for in-home visits in client locations.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to frequently lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 35 pounds and to occasionally lift and carry with others equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to frequently stand, bend, stoop, and reach above shoulder level and to occasionally squat, crouch, kneel and balance.
- Ability to frequently move in and out of a vehicle
- Ability to maintain safety at all times while driving and at client homes
