Job Summary
Plans, designs, and delivers learning-centered instruction. Provides instructional and/or behavioral intervention strategies to support students in the least restrictive environment. Implements and follows IEPs, 504 and LEP plans. Collaborates with parents, teachers, administrators and other support staff to develop and modify student programming to maximize outcomes. Collects, manages, and reports accurate data for accountability. Encourages learner interaction in the home (or mutually agreed location) and employs a variety of resources and methods to facilitate instruction. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, Virginia Teaching Certificate, and tuberculin skin test certifying no contagious TB; role involves in-home teaching with independent transportation and potential exposure to students requiring medical accommodations. Part-time, temporary assignment with duties focused on planning, delivering, and adjusting instruction to meet diverse student needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Virginia Teaching Certificate
- Tuberculin skin test certificate
- In-depth knowledge of the subject(s) to be taught
- Ability to motivate students
- Self-motivated
- Strong organizational skills
- Independent transportation
- Strong background in English or mathematics, preferred
- Demonstrate knowledge of teaching principles and methodologies
