Job Summary
Provide comprehensive services to pregnant women and children ages 0-3, capitalizing on the home as the primary learning environment under Early Head Start Supervisor supervision. Plan and implement home-based learning experiences that promote children's progress across Head Start standards, including support for dual language learners and children with disabilities. Build respectful, culturally responsive relationships with families while utilizing community resources to link participants with appropriate agencies. Maintain CPR and First Aid certification, possess a valid Hawaii driver's license, and use agency or personal vehicles to transport participants as needed. Complete on-going monthly in-service training covering child development, health, safety, and curriculum.
Required Qualifications
- High school, plus additional courses or specialized training at business or community college, or other formal training facility or program
- Knowledge and experience in child development and early childhood education
- Knowledge of the principles of child health, safety, and nutrition
- Knowledge of adult learning principles
- Knowledge of family dynamics
- Home-based CDA credential or compatible credential
- Equivalent coursework as part of an associate or bachelor's degree
- Competency to plan and implement home-based learning experiences
- Effective implementation of the home visiting curriculum
- Promotion of children's progress across the standards described in the Head Start Learning Outcomes Framework: Ages Birth to Five
- Support for children with disabilities
