Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive psycho-social home studies for prospective and current foster or adoptive families, including interviewing applicants, evaluating family dynamics, and preparing documentation for licensing approval. Assess suitability of families, interpret collateral information, and recommend additional counseling or training as needed. Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements and agency policies while maintaining accurate records in the case management online system. Alert management to safety or legal concerns and consult on child transitions. Complete required SAFE and IMPACT trainings and ongoing continuing education. Work independently using a personal vehicle and computer, adhering to strict confidentiality and cultural sensitivity standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an accredited college or university in the area of behavioral or social sciences, social work, guidance counseling, psychology, childhood education, special education or related field
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in child welfare
- Experience in licensing foster or adoptive families
- Must successfully complete SAFE Home Study training upon hire
- Must successfully complete IMPACT FCP Leader training upon hire
- Ability to physically transport self and clients to various locations
- Physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job
