Job Summary
Assist the Home Repair Crew Leader with crews, volunteers, and participants in home repair and new home construction for low-income families. Perform basic construction activities and oversee work for repair workers, volunteers, and homeowners under guidance. Conduct job assessments prior to repairs, secure materials, and follow all safety procedures while ensuring personal and crew safety. Manage equipment and tool accountability, practicing good stewardship of supplies. Lead volunteers during WorkFest, YouthFest, and group season activities once fully trained. Maintain a valid Kentucky driver's license, DOT medical card, and required certifications including OSHA 10 and EPA Lead Renovator.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 18 Months of Additional Training in a Related Field
- 2 or more years of successful experience in related field or combination of education and experience
- Valid Kentucky Driver's License
- Maintain a Safe Driving Record
- CAP Driving Certification
- Ability to obtain CAP Driving Certification within first 90 days
- Policy of motor vehicle insurance coverage on privately-owned vehicle with insurance coverage amounts of $50,000 bodily injury per person per accident
- Insurance coverage amounts of $100,000 bodily injury for all bodily injuries per accident
- Insurance coverage amounts of $50,000 property damage per accident
- DOT Medical Card
- CPR/First Aid/Bloodborne Pathogens/AED certification
- Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid/Bloodborne Pathogens/AED certification
- Ability to pass the OSHA 10 hour safety course exam
- EPA Certification for Lead Renovator
- Ability to obtain EPA Certification for Lead Renovator
- Ability to reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, stand, walk
- Ability to crawl, kneel, and/or climb
- Lift 80 lb from ground and carry 50 ft and place on shelf at 36 inches
- Lift 45 lb and carry 50 ft with one hand
- Climb 10 ft step ladder carrying 70 lb
- Lift 50 lb from ground and place on a 100 inch shelf
- Walk 100 ft on uneven ground
- Work in close spaces
- Lifts/moves items with unknown weight or that are awkward shapes and sizes with assistance
- Have good visual acuity with corrective lenses
- Have good hearing capabilities
- Stand for extended periods of time
