Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive interviews with prospective borrowers to assess financial needs, explain loan programs, and gather documentation for mortgage and home equity applications. Perform initial financial profile analysis to determine qualification standards and make lending decisions within assigned approval limits, or recommend preapproval/denial for Underwriter review. Communicate regularly with members regarding application status, resolve service complaints, and maintain clear communication channels by responding to emails and phone messages daily. Assist members with mortgage products, build referral networks with Realtors and builders, and mentor new officers while adhering to all regulatory compliance and internal control procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Consumer lending background
- Knowledge of state and federal lending regulations as follows: Truth-in-Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Housing Act, Flood Disaster Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Rights to Financial Privacy Act, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Frank Dodd Act, and Regulation Z
- NMLS number
- Fannie Mae secondary market eligibility
- Ability to operate standard office technology, equipment, and tools, which may include many hours of computer and phone usage
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for an extended period
- Ability to occasionally move about inside of an office area
- Ability to handle exposure to potentially hazardous condition, i.e. robbery
