Job Summary
Lending Manager in Chase Home Lending leading and mentoring a branch team of Senior Home Lending Advisors in Houston. Responsibilities include coaching on products and services, meeting clients with bankers, cross-selling and marketing mortgage products, promoting mortgage loan originations within footprint territories, building internal/external relationships, delivering consultative financial guidance, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Requires leadership of a profitable retail mortgage business, recruitment and development of a large lending-advisor team, strong communication, and deep knowledge of originations markets, underwriting standards (FHA/VA/FNMA/FHLMC), and related regulatory requirements. Will travel weekly to branches as needed and manage performance against strategic business plans.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in sales and/or real estate
- 5+ years of sales/mortgage/lending/originations management experience in a retail banking environment and cross-selling to mortgage customers
- Excellent P&L management skills with substantial experience leading a profitable retail business and executing a strategic business plan
- Proven track record of successfully recruiting, interviewing, hiring, developing, managing, and retaining 10 or more Field Home Lending Advisors
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal business partners
- Excellent working knowledge of the originations market including conforming, non-conforming, and home equity as well as competitor product, pricing, and business strategies
- Strong knowledge of current environment underwriting standards (e.g. FHA, VA, FNMA, and FHLMC) guidelines and loan fulfillment processes
- Willingness to travel to branches weekly, which may include overnight stays in other states
- Strong PC skills
- FHA/VA sales experience (preferred)
- Marketing, promoting, relationship building, and consulting skills (preferred)
- Intermediate PC skills in a Windows environment (preferred)
- NMLS registration and SAFE Act compliance as required by role (note on regulatory requirements)
Additional Requirements
- Requires willingness to travel to branches weekly, which may include overnight stays in other states
- Subject to regulatory review including NMLS registration and compliance with SAFE Act; background and credit checks may be required
- Felony conviction review under Truth in Lending Act/Dodd-Frank Loan Originator requirements; disqualifications may apply for recent offenses
