Job Summary
Conduct in-home infusion therapy visits for patients receiving TPN, IVIG, and IV biologics, performing head-to-toe assessments and establishing diagnoses. Prepare clinical notes, document interventions, and develop care plans with skilled medical supplies. Offer telephone and in-person education on therapy protocols, drug side effects, and adherence while acting as a liaison between patients, families, and pharmacy departments. Manage patient expectations and revise care plans based on progress evaluations. Work per diem with flexible hours across Boone, Jacksonville, and Waynesville, NC, as an independent contractor.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Expertise in home infusion therapy
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school
- Current RN state license
- 2+ years of experience in home infusion and infusion centers
- Experience with IV Immunoglobulins and IV Biologics
- Current CPR and BLS (Red Cross and AHA) certification
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Automobile insurance
- Must be physically able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
Desired Qualifications
- CRNI certification (Certified Registered Nurse Infusion)
- Experience with peripheral IV starts
- Experience with infusion therapy
- Experience with phlebotomy for both adult and pediatric patients
- Effective interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational ability to maintain consistently accurate records
- Ability to direct information to the appropriate healthcare provider
- Proficient in computer skills, including word processing, and efficient use of the internet and email
