Job Summary
Conduct in-home infusion therapy by administering IV and injectable medications, performing pre-treatment assessments, and monitoring patients for adverse reactions. Provide patient education on medication mechanisms and post-infusion guidance while documenting all procedures and communications. Manage pharmacy operations through inventory control, medication order preparation, and quality assurance activities. Coordinate with clinical supervisors and pharmacy staff to adjust care plans and verify insurance authorizations. Travel up to two hours from New Orleans or Baton Rouge to patient residences, working 5–10 hours weekly.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN)
- Valid driver's license
- Automobile insurance coverage
- Access to a reliable automobile
- College degree or certification
- 2 years of RN experience
- Ability to multi-task and frequently change direction
- Accessing PIV lines, Ports and maintaining PICC lines: 1 year
- Successful completion of a drug screen
Desired Qualifications
- ER/ICU/Infusion experience: 1 year
- Infusion experience in a hospital or Home Health setting: 1 year
- Active IgCN certification
