Job Summary
Initiate and implement intermediate nursing plans of care for patients in homes or alternate infusion suites, administering treatments and medications while evaluating patient progress. Assess physical status and modify treatment plans based on changing conditions or physician orders. Provide direct patient care, educate families on therapy independence, and coordinate discharge planning with detailed summaries. Mentor Infusion Nurse I's, lead paraprofessionals, and participate in multidisciplinary team conferences. Document care in real-time to optimize billing and maintain compliance with federal regulations. Respond promptly to patient requests and initiate emergency procedures as necessary. Participate in on-call rotations and complete required training modules. Travel up to 100% of the time to serve patients across the nation.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 1 years of nursing experience
- Current CPR certification
- Required licensure to operate a motor vehicle in the state of practice with access to a vehicle for business travel with proof of liability insurance
- Basic knowledge of computer operating systems and software applications
- Ability to self-evaluate for annual appraisal and jointly set professional growth goals with nurse manager
- Ability to apply knowledge in the effective use of nursing technology tools to communicate and document care provided
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with a maximum lifting of 75 pounds
- Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time for business purposes
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing as granted by an accredited school of nursing
- 1-2 years of previous infusion nursing experience
