Job Summary
Provide instructional services to students unable to attend regular school due to medical, disciplinary, or other reasons under the Home and Hospital Instruction Program. Deliver curriculum that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education while integrating technology into lessons. Collaborate effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office staff, students, parents, and the community. Maintain knowledge of DCPS policies and effective instructional practices. Requires a Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of education and strong oral and written communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university
- Knowledge of DCPS curriculum, techniques for integrating curriculum, DCPS policies, and effective instructional practices
- Understands the teaching/learning process
- Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education
- Ability to infuse technology into curriculum
- Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school-based staff, students, parents, and community
- Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills
