Job Summary
Provide speech pathology or audiology services in accordance with the physician's plan of treatment, accepting only patients referred by the patient care manager. Assist the physician in assessing patient functioning and developing the plan of care by applying appropriate tests for speech, hearing, and language disorders, then set appropriate goals. Record and report patient reactions to treatment and condition changes to the physician and/or case manager. Instruct and advise patients, families, and health team personnel on disease prevention to promote eventual independence. Recommend hearing tests and check hearing aids when necessary. Maintain biannual competency demonstrations and participate in required in-service programs. Requires an active Michigan Speech Therapy license, reliable transportation, and valid driver's license.
