Job Summary
Treat patients in home settings according to a Physical Therapist's program, coordinating changes in condition and maximizing functional levels. Provide education on therapy plans, home exercise programs, and safety while taking measurements and reporting updates to the supervising therapist. Deliver specific documentation of treatment and progress, participate in face-to-face conferences and mandatory case conferences, and maintain professional growth through in-service programs and continuing education. Maintain a valid PTA license, CPR certification, and Hepatitis profile if required for visits. Work in various home conditions with potential exposure to bodily fluids, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel locally on a flexible schedule.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year experience as a PTA in a clinical care setting
- Therapy skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Demonstrates proven decision-making skills
- Hepatitis profile
- Must read, write and comprehend English
- Associate degree from an APTA accredited school of physical therapist assistants
- Current driver's license in good standing
- Reliable transportation and auto liability insurance
- Current State professional license as a PTA in any/all applicable states
- Current CPR
- On-going employment as a PTA always requires maintenance of a valid PTA license in the state which the therapist practices in and a valid CPR certificate
- Prolonged standing/walking required
- The ability to lift/transfer up to 50 lbs
- Ability to meet deadlines and patient needs, make quick decisions and allocate resources under stressful conditions
- Meet patient/family individualized psychosocial needs
- Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to travel locally and work a flexible schedule
