Job Summary
Lead daily intake operations for multiple home health locations by monitoring referral pipelines, reviewing documents for completeness and payer eligibility, and coordinating with physicians, hospitals, and case managers. Ensure referrals are processed accurately within service-level expectations while supporting staff during high-volume periods and maintaining after-hours coverage seven days a week. Provide day-to-day guidance to Intake Coordinators and Specialists, assist with onboarding, and adjust assignments to maintain productivity. Monitor key performance indicators such as conversion rates and admission timeliness, report trends to leadership, and drive process improvements to support organizational growth.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three years of healthcare intake, admissions, scheduling, or related operational experience
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field
- Minimum of one year of leadership, supervisory, or lead experience
- Home health, hospice, or post-acute care experience
- Experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance verification processes
- Strong understanding of home health referral and admission processes
- Knowledge of payer authorization and insurance verification requirements
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with electronic medical records, scheduling systems, and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze operational data and drive process improvements
- Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods
- Ability to communicate effectively by phone, video conference, and in person
