Job Summary
Responsible for accurately coding patient medical records and claims for home health and hospice services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes; ensure compliance with coding guidelines and CMS rules; perform chart reviews to verify documentation and proper coding for billing; resolve coding discrepancies or claim rejections; generate coding reports and track coding metrics; collaborate with clinical and billing teams to support accurate reimbursement and data integrity.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certifications: CPC, CCS, or CHHCS/HCS-D preferred.
- Experience: 2-3 years in office/billing/medical records, preferably in a healthcare environment; home health or hospice coding preferred.
- Skills: Proficient knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS; familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid billing procedures; MS Office; electronic medical records; attention to detail; confidentiality; strong communication and collaboration abilities.
