Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, develop individualized care plans, and provide skilled nursing and case management in the home setting. Monitor patient progress, manage behavioral health conditions through evidence-based interventions, and administer IM medications as ordered. Respond to behavioral health or situational crises, communicate findings to physicians and the interdisciplinary team, and complete accurate clinical documentation. Evaluate medication effectiveness, educate patients on compliance, and support families throughout their treatment journey. This part-time PRN role offers flexible weekday hours for a dedicated RN with California licensure and behavioral health experience, situated within a supportive team focused on improving quality of life.
Required Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
- Behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing with at least 2 years of recent psychiatric/behavioral health experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) with at least 1 year of recent psychiatric/behavioral health experience
- Master's Degree in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing with at least 1 year of recent psychiatric/behavioral health experience
- Experience in home health, acute psychiatric care, or outpatient behavioral health settings
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Current auto insurance
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area
- Applicable Behavioral Health Home Care Nurse approval requirements (for agencies operating under Medicare Home Health Benefit with Palmetto as Fiscal Intermediary)
