Job Summary
The Home Health Aide (HHA) provides personal care and homemaker/companion services to clients in accordance with an established plan of care, enabling them to remain in their residences. Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, companionship, and medication assistance. Qualifications include a high school diploma or G.E.D, completion of a state-approved Aide course, and at least six months of relevant experience. Successful candidates must have a valid driver’s license and transportation.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or G.E.D certificate
- Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide course
- At least six months experience as a Certified Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide (in homes or facilities)
- Be listed in good standing on the State’s Caregiver Registry
- Achieves a minimum score of 80% on competency exam (Home Health Aide Test)
- Meets passing criteria on Ethics test
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
- Possess a valid driver's license and have use of an insured automobile or access to adequate transportation for the job
