Job Summary
Provide personal care and homemaker services to clients in their residences according to established care plans. Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, and mobility using appropriate equipment. Offer companionship, respite for family, and household management tasks including cleaning and laundry. Support clients with self-administered medications and ensure safe transfers and range of motion exercises. Maintain a clear registry status and complete required competency and ethics exams. Valid driver's license and insured vehicle are required. Flexible shifts available throughout the metro area with opportunities for advancement.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or G.E.D certificate.
- Successful completion of a state-approved Personal Care Aide or Home Care Aide course.
- At least six months experience as a Personal Care Assistant in healthcare (in homes or facilities).
- Listed with a 'clear' report on the California Home Care Aide Registry
- Achieves a minimum score of 80% on competency exam (Home Health Aide Test)
- Meets passing criteria on DEARS Ethics test
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job.
- Possess a valid driver's license and have use of an insured automobile or access to adequate transportation for the job.
