Job Summary
Provide personal care services including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal assistance in accordance with an established plan of care. Deliver companion and household management duties such as respite for family, cleaning, laundry, and floor maintenance. Assist clients with self-administered medications and support ambulation, transfers, and range of motion exercises using appropriate assistive devices. Maintain a clear registry status with a valid driver's license and complete required competency and ethics exams. Shifts are available throughout the metro area with flexible scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or G.E.D certificate
- Successful completion of a state-approved Personal Care Aide or Home Care Aide course
- At least six months experience as a Personal Care Assistant in healthcare (in homes or facilities)
- Listed with a 'clear' report on the California Home Care Aide Registry
- Achieves a minimum score of 80% on competency exam (Home Health Aide Test)
- Meets passing criteria on DEARS Ethics test
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
- Possess a valid driver's license and have use of an insured automobile or access to adequate transportation for the job
