Job Summary

Conduct personal care services including bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, and assisting with toileting and dressing. Monitor clients for skin breakdown, vital signs, and mobility needs while documenting observations and reporting changes to the assigned nurse. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements, perform light housekeeping, and accompany clients to medical appointments. Provide emotional support, companionship, and instruction while maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality. Adhere to care procedures and attend required training, including obtaining certifications such as First Aid, CPR, and Home Health Aide certification within specified timelines. Maintain a valid Washington State driver's license and own transportation.

Required Qualifications

  • Culturally relevant experience in a care giving role
  • Experience working with Elders, within a Tribal community preferred
  • Current and valid Washington State Driver's License
  • Own transportation with valid insurance coverage
  • Flexibility to work varying hours/shifts
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Pass a drug screen
  • Meet all health and immunization requirements
  • Obtain Food Handler's permit within 30 days of hire
  • Obtain First Aid certification within 3 months of hire
  • Obtain CPR certification within 3 months of hire
  • Obtain Blood Borne Pathogens certification within 3 months of hire
  • Obtain Oxygen certification within 3 months of hire
  • Obtain Home Health Aide certification through MEIHSS within 6 months of hire
  • Successfully pass home care aid exam within a year of hire
  • Valid Home Health Aide certification or Certified Nursing Assistant certificate
