Job Summary
Deliver meals to client homes using a personal or company vehicle while following scheduled daily routes. Assist in packing and loading foodstuff, including placing items in hot boxes and coolers, and load supplies such as paper products and eating utensils. Observe seniors at delivery times for unusual behavior, incoherent speech, or complexion changes, reporting concerns to staff. Log odometer readings daily, record delivered meals, and communicate with nutrition staff regarding cancellations or routing issues. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance needs. Complete training on driving, food handling, CPR, and First Aid.
Required Qualifications
- Equivalent of 8th grade education
- Basic math skills
- Basic reading skills
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- Ability to be insurable by the Commission's insurance carrier
- Ability to undergo a required background check
- Ability to successfully complete CPR and First Aid training
- Ability to stoop and bend
- Ability to move and lift hot boxes and coolers weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods
- Ability to climb stairs
