Job Summary
Assist with personal care, including showering, dressing, and toileting. Provide domestic support such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation. Offer transport and social assistance to appointments, shopping, and leisure activities. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and families while ensuring health and safety standards are followed. Work with older people in the Ipswich region between 8am and 6pm. This role supports older Australians to live independently at home within The Salvation Army Aged Care.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent
- Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle (including valid registration with minimal 3rd Party Insurance)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Previous home care or community care experience
- Motivation to work with older people and an understanding of their needs
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and safely in a client's home
- Alignment with the Christian values and ethos of The Salvation Army
- Successful completion of a Working with Children Check
- Mandatory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
