Job Summary
Develop and execute tailored physical therapy treatment plans to relieve pain and restore function in patients recovering from surgeries, managing chronic pain, or living with disabilities. Conduct initial evaluations assessing muscle strength, joint function, and mobility, while supervising Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure high standards of practice. Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities including manual therapies and traction, and assess home environments to recommend modifications that enhance rehabilitation. Document clinical findings accurately in electronic medical record systems and collaborate with physicians for prosthetic or orthotic device recommendations. Provide education to patients and families on therapeutic device usage and overall care programs.
Required Qualifications
- A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT)
- An active Physical Therapist license in Virginia, with no history of sanctions or board proceedings
- Proficiency in utilizing EMR software and familiarity with documentation processes relevant to home health
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and consult with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting, particularly in home care or outpatient services
- Manual therapy certification or equivalent experience in manual therapy techniques
- Demonstrated track record of creating and managing successful therapeutic exercise programs
