Job Summary
Conduct thorough evaluations of patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or medical conditions in a home care environment. Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs, considering their living conditions and available support systems. Implement therapeutic techniques including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and the use of specialized equipment to manage pain and increase mobility. Regularly document patient progress, treatment efficacy, and adapt care plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes. Educate patients and their families on rehabilitation exercises, pain management techniques, and the proper use of assistive devices. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and address any barriers to recovery. Stay informed about the latest developments in physical therapy through continuing education, workshops, and professional networking.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT)
- valid state license in Physical Therapy
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Basic proficiency in word processing and computer skills
- flexibility and adaptability in adjusting treatment plans to meet patients' changing needs
Desired Qualifications
- two years of experience in a physical therapy setting
- Experience specifically with home health care or outpatient orthopedic therapy
- Familiarity with assistive devices and knowledge of their application in everyday settings
