Job Summary
Home Care Attendant providing paraprofessional personal care and home support to individuals in their homes per the established plan of care; duties include assisting frail/disabled clients to remain safely in their homes, applying critical thinking to priorities, and working independently or with a team in a culturally diverse Manitoba community. Requires up-to-date Home Care Attendant or Health Care Aide certification, Grade 12, bilingual proficiency, a valid Class 5 license, and completion of mandatory background checks. Role involves potential evenings/weekends and local travel to regional facilities as needed; emphasis on confidentiality, safety, and person-centered care.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 education required
- Home Care Attendant Certificate or Health Care Aide Certificate with community component from a recognized post-secondary institute
- Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions
- Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00
- Completes and maintains Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
