Home Care Aide-Personal Care Assistant (PCA) (47508)

Deliver in-home care services to Bay Aging clients to help them live safely in the community. Provide personal care, health and safety monitoring and light housekeeping. Introduce and coach new Personal Care Aides in the field. Perform administrative work in the office to complete a full-time schedule every week. Report to the Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include assisting with Activities of Daily Living (bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, eating, ambulation), Special maintenance (check vitals, supervise medication, assist with specialized care as assigned by RN, supervise clients), Independent Activities of Daily Living (meal prep, light housekeeping, laundry, accompany to appointments), errands, monitor home environment, document services, communicate changes to RN, complete 12 hours of formal training annually, provide on-the-job training to new PCAs, and 5% office work under RN Supervisor or Scheduling Coordinator. Working knowledge of HIPAA and adult care practices; stay current with at least 12 hours of in-service annually; English language proficiency; strong communication with clients and families; ability to care for clients with dementia/Alzheimer’s; client confidentiality; physical ability to assist with lifting up to 25lbs; mentions in-home work environment and the need to work nights, weekends, and holidays regularly.
