Job Summary
Conduct 46 weekly home visits per family lasting at least 90 minutes, implementing a curriculum that encourages positive social interaction and self-motivation for children. Address challenging behaviors by identifying causes and partnering with families for home support while documenting progress through observations and anecdotal notes. Facilitate 22 group socialization activities per school year and provide education on health, nutrition, and mental health services. Screen families for special needs, create individualized goals, and act as a liaison between families and community resources. Maintain accurate confidential records in an electronic database and participate in assigned meetings and training. Work with 10-12 families to support development using a family-centered philosophy, with bilingual Spanish preferred and a valid driver's license required.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a Home-Based CDA credential OR an equivalent credential (e.g., an Associate's or Bachelor's degree with relevant Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Infant/Toddler coursework)
- Experience and skills in assisting parents with advocacy and decision-making
- Regular local travel to and from families' homes, the main office, and program sites, with limited additional travel (up to ~10%) for in-person training and meetings with Shine
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for frequent local travel
- Physical exam and background checks are required for this position
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
