Job Summary
Provide continual care to residents of Wesley Commons in a home-like setting, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as meal setup, transferring, bathing, and dressing; support daily hygiene needs including mouth care and denture care; assist with personal grooming (hair, hearing aids, glasses) and maintain resident confidentiality. Requires High School diploma or equivalent, CPR and First Aid certification, ability to lift up to 75 pounds, physical stamina, effective communication, and basic computer skills for annual training; strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with residents, families, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Maintains Red Cross CPR and First Aid Certification
- Must keep resident information confidential including diagnosis and medical history
- Must be able to properly handle body fluids
- Demonstrates verbal, non-verbal, and written and skills necessary for effective communication
- Demonstrates computer skills necessary to complete annual computer training modules
- Able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and on occasion handle 75 pounds or more
- Able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Able to bend and squat
- Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with staff, co-workers, residents, families and volunteers
