Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced veterinary assistant to provide essential patient care and client services at Hollymead Veterinary Hospital. Responsibilities include handling and restraining patients, assisting licensed veterinary technicians, collecting and preparing lab samples, assisting veterinarians during exams, and ensuring a clean and organized hospital environment. Strong communication skills are necessary for educating clients and documenting interactions. The position requires the ability to remain calm under pressure and to lift 40 pounds. Experience in a veterinary hospital setting is required.
Required Qualifications
- At least 6 months of experience as a veterinary assistant in a hospital setting
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Able to remain calm in stressful situations
- Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods; shift times range from 9-12 hours
- Able to lift 40 pounds
- Basic veterinary knowledge and terminology
