Job Summary
Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of holiday lighting displays for Christmas at the Zoo. Remove lights from storage, check bulbs, and replace them as needed. Help with Christmas tree setup, including hanging lights and decorations. Follow all Zoo safety policies, procedures, and guest experience standards. Work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, including conditions in inclement weather. Lift and move items up to 25 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently. Complete an online Zoo application and pass pre-employment testing, including a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug test.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- A positive attitude and commitment to creating exceptional guest experiences
- Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, which include inclement weather, cold and hot temperatures, and humidity
- Must be comfortable working on ladders, uneven terrain, and elevated areas while safely installing lights
- Must be able to lift and move items up to 25 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently
- Candidates must have flexible availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Employment at the Indianapolis Zoo is contingent upon the successful completion of pre-employment testing including a background check, motor vehicle check (if applicable) and a drug test
