Job Summary
Conduct hockey classes for children aged 5-14, managing skills stations for up to five skaters and ensuring gear safety. Arrive 30 minutes early to distribute lender equipment and remain post-class to return gear, while assisting with initial sizing and maintaining the hockey room organization. Communicate with fellow instructors regarding warm-ups and weekly skill assignments, and complete evaluation forms and accident reports as needed. Maintain open lines with parents to update them on activities and progress. Perform duties as assigned by the Hockey Director, including participation in the 4th of July parade and potential summer camp counseling.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to demonstrate advanced hockey skills
- Applicants must be flexible and be available to work evening and weekend shifts
- Applicants must have previous skating and hockey experience
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Park District employees are expected to help work our 4th of July parade. Instructors need to make sure they are available to do this.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children or teaching children is a plus, but we will train.
