Job Summary
Bechtel seeks a Senior Piping Superintendent to lead the piping discipline on the Hanford Tank Waste Treatment project. You will supervise and direct field piping activities, including site fabrication and installation of piping, hangers and supports (above ground and underground), manage craft assignments, develop short- and long-term schedules, coordinate with other disciplines, and drive safety, quality, and compliance on a major nuclear construction program. The role requires coordinating with discipline Superintendents and construction management, ensuring work aligns with project budgets and schedules, and maintaining a strong safety culture on the site. A bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and substantial piping/leadership experience are required, along with eligibility to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship. The position includes relocation authorization and full-time office/project work at the Hanford site in Richland, WA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or international equivalent
- 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Pre-employment drug screen, physical (if on site), background check
- Department of Energy badge access
- Nuclear Construction knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of safety standards and safety program compliance
- Extensive piping and hanger field installation experience in power/heavy industrial environments
- Supervision, planning and scheduling experience
- Reading and interpretation of piping drawings (isometric/orthographic), design guides, specifications
- Experience with construction project planning and scheduling
- Knowledge of Construction Quality Assurance
- Knowledge of supervisory functions for field activities
- Experience with confined space
- Knowledge of environmental compliance
- Familiarity with Integrated Safety Management System principles
- Experience with Bechtel processes and procedures
- Computer literacy (word processing, spreadsheets, technical databases)
- Experience with lock-out/tag-out and safety programs
