Job Summary
HITL Engineering Intern at Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA. You will support Hardware In The Loop (HITL) activities within the Space Systems organization, assisting in designing, building, maintaining, and operating HITL systems. Work closely with a mentor and engineers to apply engineering and industry concepts to real challenges; participate in frequent 1:1s with mentors and supervisors; engage in tech talks and networking with interns and employees. Ideal candidates are comfortable working in small, high-performing teams, can lead development projects without supervision, and collaborate across teams. Required qualifications include enrollment in a bachelor’s, master's, or doctorate program in engineering, physics, or math with at least one semester remaining, GPA 3.0+, and 3+ months of applied engineering experience. Nice-to-have qualifications include GPA 3.5+, 6+ months of experience, knowledge of Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, and Python. Additional requirements specify full-time on-site work for 12 weeks starting Sept 8, 2026. Compensation includes hourly pay of $28 in California, relocation stipend possible, and a comprehensive benefits package. ITAR eligibility and US/New Zealand location considerations apply where applicable.
Required Qualifications
