Job Summary
Install trailer hitches, towing accessories, and vehicle wiring to U-Haul standards while diagnosing wiring and lighting issues. Safely operate hand and power tools, perform quality inspections, and assist customers with hitch demonstrations and safe towing practices. Cross-train as a Customer Service Representative to handle rentals and returns, and move, connect, and maintain rental equipment including filling propane cylinders. Participate in ongoing training through U-Haul University. This physically active role requires standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with the ability to maintain a good driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning automotive installation skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as business needs require
- Must be able to lift and move at least 50 pounds, with or without assistance
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions
- Must be able to safely move trucks, trailers, and other equipment around the property
- Must be able to follow all required safety procedures, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment
