Job Summary
Prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination by fixing, embedding, sectioning, and mounting samples on glass slides. Stain surgical, biopsy, and autopsy sections, as well as cell buttons, smears, and cytocentrifuge preparations, to demonstrate disease presence or absence to the pathologist. This role supports the pathologist responsible for reading slides and making diagnoses. Full-time, 8-hour day shifts. Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in medical laboratory sciences
- HT or HTL certification
- Histotechnician diploma from an accredited program
- HTL-ASCP Histotechnologist Certification-ASCP
- HTN-ASCP Histotechnician Certification-ASCP
Desired Qualifications
- HT (ASCP) coursework/training
- 2 years of experience as a Histology Technologist in a Histology Lab or hospital environment
