Job Summary
Perform routine histology including Immunohistochemistry and Special Stains, demonstrating competency in embedding and cutting routine and biopsy tissue. Articulate knowledge of testing principles, computer skills, quality control, and pre/post-analytical problems while assisting the AP Manager and Team Leader on Quality Assurance & Improvement. Supervise daily workflow and staffing, maintain equipment, and coach others on proper technique for routine Histology functions. Manage projects and validate IHC/SS procedures. Requires an Associate's degree, Life Sciences background, and HT (ASCP) certification.
Required Qualifications
- Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associates degree (2 years college)
- Life Sciences or related field
- 1 - 3 years of experience
- HT (ASCP)
- Proficiency with IHC/SS validations and maintenance of equipment
- Ability to demonstrate and coach others on proper technique with routine Histology functions
- Ability to manage projects
