Job Summary
Histotechnician role at Labcorp in Brentwood, TN. Responsible for processing human tissue and body fluids for microscopic examination, preparing histopathology slides, sectioning tissue with a microtome, performing immunohistochemical tests on FFPE tissues, staining procedures, and maintaining equipment logs. Requires an associate degree in Histology or related science with relevant lab experience or histology certification; ASCP certifications preferred. Work schedule Tue-Sat evenings; in-person role with on-site responsibilities including QC, documentation, and adherence to lab procedures to deliver accurate test results.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Histology OR Associate’s degree in Chemical or Biological science with 1+ year clinical lab experience OR completion of Histology certification program (min 9 months)
- Histology and/or ASCP certifications (preferred)
- Comfortability embedding both large and small specimens; high attention to detail; ability to work independently and in a team; familiarity with laboratory information systems; ability to pass color blindness test
