Job Summary
Primary responsibilities include performing all necessary histology procedures for accessioning and preparation of pathology specimens, including handling immunohistochemistry and special stains, operating tissue processors, microtomes, cryostats, and covering slides; ensure quality control and accuracy in processing; collaborate with Pathologist for frozen section slides; maintain LIS data, labels, and worklists; participate in continuing education and adhere to CAP/JCAHO/CLIA/FDA standards; potential for professional development within a high-volume lab; state-of-the-art laboratory with 75k+ cases per year; eligible for full-time schedule with varied shifts; required education includes an Associate degree and NAACLS-accredited histotechnology program; HT/HTL ASCP certification preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Science or Applied Science (or equivalent) and completion of an accredited NAACLS histotechnology program
- HT or HTL ASCP certification preferred
- 1-3 years histology experience preferred
