Job Summary
Perform routine histology duties including embedding, cutting, processing, H&E staining, cover slipping, and grossing biopsies and small specimens. Maintain diagnostic viability of all specimens, ensure correct patient labeling, and verify surgical case numbers match blocks and slides. Troubleshoot assays and instrumentation, document quality control activities, and troubleshoot problems affecting test performance or reporting. Prepare, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment while adhering to CLIA CFR 493.1489 and California grossing guidelines. Work Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 1am to 5am as a part-time Histotech.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet CLIA/CA Grossing Guidelines CFR 493.1489
- BS in a Laboratory Science or Science
- 2-3 years of experience in histology
Desired Qualifications
- HT or HTL Certification Preferred
- Previous Lab Management preferred
- Previous Dermatology experience preferred
