Job Summary
Perform tissue grossing, embedding, and microtomy for FFPE and frozen sections. Execute H&E and special stains per protocol, scan and digitize slides using whole slide imaging systems, and troubleshoot histology workflows. Conduct quality control checks, maintain accurate LIS documentation, and perform routine equipment maintenance. This evening shift per diem role requires 2+ years of histology experience with strong microtomy and staining proficiency. We are hiring for the evening shift only; flexibility for weekends is required based on lab workload.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of histology experience
- Strong microtomy and staining proficiency
- Experience working with animal and/or human tissue types
- Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment
- Flexibility to work weekends as needed based on lab workload
Desired Qualifications
- New York State License and/or HT/HTL (ASCP) certification
- Experience with whole slide imaging / digital pathology platforms
- Experience in a research or CRO laboratory
