Job Summary
Plan and deliver history instruction to secondary students, developing and implementing lesson plans aligned with district and state standards; assess student progress toward stated objectives; maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning; establish and maintain professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the community; utilize technology to support instruction and communication; participate in school planning, faculty meetings, and district program improvement efforts; uphold confidentiality of student records and comply with board policies; subject to the Students First Act of 2011 with a 187-day school year; requires a B.S. degree in instructional responsibility and Alabama teaching certification; duties include curriculum development, differentiation, and collaboration with staff to meet student needs; Madison City Schools reserves the right to fill by transfer of a qualified applicant already employed by the district.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a B.S. Degree in the area of instructional responsibility required
- Alabama State Department of Education Teaching Certification in the area of instructional responsibility required
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
