Job Summary
Inventory and analyze 15 boxes of Bob McManus collection materials, including official documents, reports, and photographs. Apply archival preservation techniques to assess physical condition and determine historical value for permanent retention. Digitize maps and documents, manage existing digital photo files, and store materials in the FTA History Hub. Prepare indexes, meta-tags, and descriptions for archived content while converting paper materials to digital formats. Assist archive users with information retrieval and support presentations to make the collection accessible to employees, stakeholders, and the public. Research materials to develop web posts, displays, and articles for publication.
Required Qualifications
- 5-10 years of relevant archivist and/or records-management experience
- 100% On-Site, Washington, DC, 20590
- Telework is not authorized
- No travel required
- Employment Classification Eligibility—Exempt
- Background investigation
- Use of computer monitor screens up to 100% of the time
- Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs
- Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 100% of the time
- Frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc.
