Job Summary
Perform cyclic maintenance and repair on historic structures at the Oasis at Death Valley, overseeing exterior painting while adhering to NEPA 106 regulations and the Secretary of the Interior's Standards. Produce professional quality work in carpentry, masonry, metalwork, and logsmithing, ensuring safe tool storage and compliance with safety policies regarding scaffolding, fall protection, lead, and asbestos. Complete assigned work orders with high-quality craftsmanship, reporting to the Assistant Director of Engineering. Full-time, year-round role with a typical 40-hour schedule; $23.60/hour.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two years of experience in Historic Preservation or related work (painting, carpentry, masonry), and skilled in the use of tools common to the trade.
- Demonstrated skill in producing and maintaining professional quality work.
- Knowledge of Company facilities and locations desired.
- Must possess physical stamina and condition to withstand heavy labor related work in an outside environment.
- Possess or obtain a valid Driver's License.
- Basic knowledge of construction and trade skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to climb up/down stairs.
